Dream Deprived
Even when the body drifts off to sleep, the mind stays up. Processing emotions, cataloging experiences, committing some to memory, discarding others, dreaming.
We’re hardwired to dream. It not only comes naturally; our mental health depends on it. That’s why medical experts regard sleep deprivation as a form of torture. Humans cannot do without that down time. We have to sleep, we need to dream.
Whether asleep or awake, dreaming is as essential as breathing. Awakened imagination does for civil society what sleep does for body and mind. Refresh. Rejuvenate. Making dreams a grave threat to those trying to keep us in our place.
