Sometimes imagination is a sandy beach with waves lapping at the shores, other times it’s the lifeguard. When light shines brightly, imagination makes aspirations soar. When all is shrouded in darkness, it keeps hope alive.
With mammoth problems at our doorstep, with lies getting the better of truth and cruelty besting kindness for the time being, moments like our current one are when imagination truly earns its keep. It’s more important than ever to be able to visualize brighter days and a better world and share those imaginings with each other.
There’s a wondrous place that figures prominently in my novel Miracles Along County Q. This journal is named for it. Like all the places, events and characters in the story, Ebiyan House is entirely real yet fictionalized. It’s based on several actual places I’ve been fortunate to visit and come to know.
