For the last month, been reading The Atlantic magazine’s special issue on what’ll happen if Donald Trump becomes president again. Finished the last of two dozen articles just the other day.
From cover to cover, there’s outstanding journalism, well-sourced, expertly reported. It’s harrowing reading. The authors detail how Trump and some of his closest confidants are hatching plans to avenge perceived slights and disloyalty, install lapdogs and cronies, circumvent Congress, further compromise the courts, unleash corruption, free himself from legal jeopardy, bring military commanders to heel, abandon NATO, expel immigrants, end abortion nationally, unravel civil rights, embolden extremists, discredit science, suppress history and emasculate the media.
